“Americans are innovative. We live in a culture of creativity and entrepreneurship, so it shouldn't surprise anyone to hear that there were 10,284 venture deals funded between 2012 and 2014. It's amazing that our society so readily supports new ideas. But what isn't quite as amazing is how few of those deals involved black women.
