A Message From Our CEO on the Storming of the US Capitol

On January 6th, 2021 we witnessed a most devastating and historic event that will long be remembered as one of our country’s darkest days. A violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol in a direct assault on our democracy, citizens, and values. This was a blatant display of domestic terrorism stoked by unforgivable and inaccurate political rhetoric. To see our nation’s capital under siege is disturbing and leaves an indelible mark on all of us. It also leaves us with so many lingering questions for our collective future.

As champions for Black and Latinx women and marginalized communities, we understand the frustration and emotional toll that yesterday’s chaos created. You are not alone. Last year, our nation sparked a long-overdue racial reckoning that brought to the forefront generations of racism, injustice and disparate treatment experienced by communities of color. This week’s insurrection is a painful reminder of how communities are treated differently in this country and we have so much work to do for meaningful change and sustained progress. We are optimistic that progress is in progress and believe deeply in the promise of this nation. digitalundivided remains committed to supporting our community and advocating for you every step of the way.

As we continue our push for inclusivity and economic empowerment for Black and Latinx communities, we are calling on our leaders to move beyond partisanship and to make diversity and representation a priority. With the upcoming inauguration of a new administration and even this week’s defining election results in Georgia, we stand together to usher in this new chapter.  Our hopes for 2021 will not be defined by yesterday’s divisive display, but instead will reignite the promise of a more inclusive and united future.
