As a woman committed to the advancement of women, I am deeply saddened to have lost such a trailblazer and champion of gender equality and equal protection. Ruth Bader Ginsburg will forever be a catalyst for the advancement of all women. Opportunity in this country exists only to the extent that the law allows. Without a legal seat at the table, recognizing our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, women who look like me cease to maximize our talents, abilities, and contributions to society. Justice Ginsburg's legacy is dynamic, unfolding, and still manifesting daily.
Leading an organization that supports the economic empowerment of Black and Latinx communities through women entrepreneurs, we must honor Ruth Bader Ginsburg's work that's paved the way. As we at digitalundivided push for female innovators and create pathways to empowerment for Black & Latinx women, we do so only because the law supports our ambitions. Much of that is due to Ruth Bader Ginsberg's daily dedication and sacrifices. As only the second woman appointed to the Supreme Court, she fought hard to break barriers and the fight continues.
May she rest in peace, and may we all honor her legacy by doing the work to create a more equitable country for all. #RIP #RGB
